we, as Christians, ARE supposed to be content. to be content about what we are blessed with- the jobs we're placed in, the friends and families we have, the situations we're put in, the talents and abilities we're given, the things we can afford to buy, the homes we are living in.

A christian said to me after I told her that I feel content, that maybe God will give me a challenge soon since I'm so comfortable now. well you know what, it IS a challenge to feel content. Feeling content doesn't mean that everything is going well or perfect. As a matter of fact, things aren't perfect. Being content doesn't mean I'm in my comfort zone and that i need to get out of it in order for God to use me or for me to work for God. It just means that I'm trying to be thankful with what God has given me and in where God has placed me at this moment in time.

The World tells us not to be content. that you need more stuff, need to have more friends, have more fun, make more money, live in a bigger house, climb up the corporate ladder etc. Being content doesn't mean that I am lazy and that I'm not doing anything to challenge myself, it just means that I try to live day by day with less complaints and more thanksgiving because I trust that God provides me with all that I need for each new day.
